Modeling and Realization of Virtual Acupuncture Training Simulation System

Study and practice of medical virtual acupuncture training simulation system has great significance and practical application value on accurate positioning of human acupuncture points, simulation of acupuncture treatment, evaluation of the acupuncturists’ skill, and reduction of acupuncturists’ mistake. By using mathematical physical modeling, we propose a skin model based on triangular mesh for the skin subsidence and rotation simulation. In the virtual acupuncture scene built by Java3D, we pick up the acupuncture points and simulate the acupuncture operation by using JOGL (Java OpenGL), and then evaluate learners' acupuncture operations. By integrating each module of the acupuncture simulation, we develop an acupuncture training platform to train the acupuncture learners and evaluate their acupuncture operations.
